Abstract

A spectral method for fuzzy clustering is proposed. The method operates on anextension of the spectral decomposition of a square matrix and extracts clusters oneby one, which allows us to draw several stopping rules to the procedure. This appliesto several similarity data types differently normalized: network structure data, affinitybetween multidimensional vectors, and in-house data of similarity between researchtopics according to working of a research center.
